Building Toward Your Future
Dearborn Academy provides a great chance for students to take charge of their high school learning. The school prides itself on its strong academic program, individual attention and one-on-one learning supports that will help our older adolescents improve their critical thinking skills while building (or re-building) important academic skills and content knowledge. At its base, the core curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. In addition to strong core academics, however, Dearborn offers a highly respected shops and studio program, health and physical education, a diverse selection of electives and opportunities for all students to gain work experience and professional skills.
As a school concerned with each student's emotional health and well being, Dearborn's school day includes individual and group therapy for students and their families. Our teachers, milieu staff and clinical specialists work closely together to support each student navigating the challenges of adolescence. Learn more about our clinical and milieu services, or download a more detailed description here.
What is equally important for many students and families is that no student graduates from Dearborn High School without a road map for the future. Seniors work hard on a personalized transition plan during the last part of their senior year and get lots of support and guidance setting up a plan for success for after graduation. Our distinguished career guidance services have received commendations for excellence from the state's department of education. We offer both career and life skills workshops and college guidance and support.
Finally in addition to a nine-month academic year, Dearborn offers a six-week summer program.
